I have a word in pseudodictionary.com.
Porkify.
Go find it.
My concern lately is all the new web sites. How are we supposed to discover them all? Is this just the nature of it? Wander around and hope to bump into something new? It's like wandering in the dark in your room and new furniture has grown all around you.
Go read somethingawful.com. Everybody should.
Project 365 is at 900 pages. How will it be when completed? I have gone back and read a number of entries. It has been a fun project, if ultimately tiresome at this phase. I'm reading Portnoy's Complaint. Pussy-crazy Jews. My cup of tea. Strange how what you read just always happens to match perfectly with when you read it. I was reading Foucalt's Pendulum on September 11.
I can't stand that we get older, every day and every minute.
The smartest people: those who spend their youth playing sports and exerting their bodies physically, and their later years developing their minds. Me, I lived in my mind my whole childhood, and now I'm getting old and I haven't even really played any sports. I may never. Then again, by the time we're 80 there may be technology galore for repairing and "youthifying" old human tissue. Perhaps I can be a soccer star as an octagenarian.
Good afternoon.
Coming soon: chronicle of Europe.

Check out this great incomprehensible headphone review!
How can you refuse a review whose argument goes,
"You tried making on an experimental basis the year mold for the MDR-EX70SL, but as for external auditory meatus length the pattern where shortly you can obtain the frequency balance where the pot is satisfactorier."
*******************************************************************
The SONY * MDR-EX70SL
The year receiver for the iPod, it seems that becomes examination item even with each sight, but in inside at SONY make " MDR-EX70SL ". With the year tip/chip of the silicon make, simple encapsulated type. Also size is very the wearing impression with small inclination.
The year tip/chip section be able to do the removal, adjusting to the size of the ear, exchange is possible. Whether the ǧ - the Çfi, this year tip/chip, the name machine of the past years, you can use with the SONY TE-ST55/5C6b system, * & * (it is the hearing aid, but laughing).
Concerning sound with the sound quality where sufficiently satisfaction goes, most because of encapsulated type, outside it becomes masking noise invasion of noise to be little, also not increasing sound even inside the streetcar, it was possible to enjoy.
On one hand, with encapsulated type the Occulusion Effect occurs, overpressure value near 250 - the 500Hz rises, but moving other than contact and the gnathal joint of the tooth, by his occurs the sound where is easy to offend to the ears the point that. In addition because from cutoff of the aural signal from outside, in the aspect, danger perceiving ability decreases largely, as for utilization in the midst of and the like walking it is necessary to avoid.
You tried comparing the difference " of MDR-EX70SL " and iPod standard year receiver wearing.
The left does not inhale the year receiver of iPod standard, the right SONY " MDR-EX70SL " (, by mistake it increased, * & *) from the ÉnÉi .
The year receiver of iPod standard type diameter to be large a little (for the American market?) May be also a case whose being settled is bad in the one where the ear is small is.
In addition with the general receiver of such type, is stored to the ear concha cavity prevention of falling off of the substance which takes maintenance in the tragus and the antitragus it becomes the style which, but seriously it says that direction of the driver it is adjusted to external auditory meatus direction, the weak point which.
In addition because the air gap of the external auditory meatus becomes large, in addition to the fact that transmission loss of sound to the tympanic membrane occurs, because also environmental sound outside invades, with the environment whose especially around is noisy volume itself is increased tend.
It is the style which in general type such as iPod standard year receiver stores the substance to the ear concha cavity, does the maintenance for falling off with the tragus and the antitragus, but because the air gap becomes large in regard to external auditory meatus blockade, as for the sound pressure which is transmitted to the tympanic membrane decrease. In addition with driver diameter, when fitting to the ear changes, size is large, at the time of the bulging of the earring leg, accompanying pain with long time wearing.
On one hand, with " MDR-EX70SL " we obtain maintenance by resistance of the external auditory meatus and the silicon ear tip/chip, because it becomes the style which closes airtight the external auditory meatus, as for driver diameter itself to be somewhat small as for transmission efficiency to the tympanic membrane we are good, adjust to the decrease of residual external auditory meatus capacity, can obtain the sufficient volume impression.
Depending upon the air gap of the external auditory meatus, to be attenuated tend low the limits come out rather it reaches the point where, but this comes out too somewhat, is the disliking where Bu - becomes with me the feeling which. When it can fumble with this and the equalizer, furthermore it does well and (the vent opens and ÇÍ ÇÍ time is and with does but). Remainder not to sound livelily, in order just a little about for moderate volume to be suitable, you think.
In order with " MDR-EX70SL " to maintain the year receiver with the external auditory meatus, in order the small ear even with is easy to fit, in addition the external auditory meatus to close airtight, it actualizes the efficient transmission to the tympanic membrane. The part which from the substance is connected to the cord/code you use the silicon material, éÏ tack and just are fitted to also the mark.
" It makes shortly the band, is long to make being less crowded ", as in indication, the case where at the beginning you inserted in the pocket of the back and the pants, the just a little routing was troublesome. " Then replacing to the tobacco rather " in the pocket of the chest, when you try inserting, there is no excessive play at just size, the comfort. If you inserted the wheel surface, before skip / what calls also halt the OK was ascertained (removing from the pocket, while looking at the picture with, when it becomes, being after all just a little to be short, it does, but * & *).
It receives the mail, in regard to music appreciation and danger perceiving by the year receiver when walking (Kubota, thank you!) You tried measuring the smallest audible threshold change when music is designated as masking noise, making use of the assistant listening effective measurement equipment.
The Lyon corporation assistant listening effective measurement equipment " HF-03 ". Originally the case where the hearing aid is done it is the equipment which is used in order to verify the effect, but it measured the naked ear (wearing it is not) with, at the time of time * stop of the performance of the MDR-EX70SL and the iPod concerning.
Originally from the speaker it measures at distance of the 1m, but lowering the audible threshold of the high pass naked ear, in order to look at the change with year receiver installing, you tried measuring at 2m distance. As for measurement sound it is not the pure tone and we have become war bull tone.
How practicing, well, it cannot hit the fact that it chooses in masking noise, (the proper?) Good Times Bad Times of Led Zeppelin. At volume position of the lower picture it measured.
Many times hearing, the ÉhÉâÉ~ÉìÉO be too enormous of the É{ÉìÉ] the Good Times Bad Times which skill it is possible. As for volume when such as 7 partitions.

Unit: Measurement failure below dB SPL & 20dB SPL
Appeared is airtightness characteristic, e.g., with the measurement result with the naked ear and the smallest audible threshold comparison of each year receiver when stopping, with the MDR-EX70SL you can see the rise of the 15dB in every the 1kHz/ 2kHz, (as for environmental sound 35 - the 40dB). With the iPod standard year receiver, although you can see somewhat rise with high pass, as for difference of the naked ear in the result which almost is not.
It is change when performing, again, but, this was surprised trying measuring,, but big change appeared in full circuit wave number zone. With the iPod 50 - 55dB smallest audible threshold rises concerning 35 - the 45dB and the MDR-EX70SL.
When while it is non consciousness in such state you walk throughout the city, it is very dangerous, you think) whether (perhaps there is the note writing even in the instruction manual and the like. While walking and, use of the year receiver please avoids regardless of the product, for danger evasion absolutely on the on stream of the bicycle * motorcycle & the car. When in state of that one it springs out that way outside, whether it meets to unexpected accident, the ǵÇÍÇ‹ÇÇÒ e.g., it can leap to the car.
From Newton @-AtMark- and Sugiyama concerning the fretting noise of external auditory meatus airtightness and the cord/code the mail receiving, (thank you for!) The case of movement such as walking, when limits sound offends to the ears rather low with the movement of the cord/code, it received indication.
Whether as for the MDR-EX70SL in order with encapsulated type, for there to be times when the Occulusion Effect becomes remarkable, itself utterance and gnathal joint gliding * hinge * rotation sound and occlusion sound resonate, at the external auditory meatus soft section are times when it offends to the ears in the same way overpressure value in regard to the fretting sound of 20 - 30dB rise and the cord/code in the frequency band near 250 - the 500Hz, the ǵÇÍÇ‹ÇÇÒ.
From the above-mentioned reason, the silent limits (peak not only the cord/code near the 400Hz) in, the heel when walking hits against the land, you verify and sound and the sound, from the vocal chord " ÉSÉb and the ÉS Éb " (you attach the year receiver and " the ÉE - " with try saying and as the watermelon thinks), the gnathal joint and the sound where the tooth hits (as for this way when äö it is with you look at the gum and the beef jar key, * & *) and so on, when various sounds offend to the ears.
It is such sound, but because with noise the masking it is done by the fact that overpressure value of identical frequency exceeds that with music and the volume which are heard, when volume keeps lifting, above a certain fixed volume it stops becoming matter of concern, (when sound is not inserted in the opposite direction from the year receiver, you think) whether most noise becomes matter of concern.
You think whether there are times when noise of such silent limits is easy to offend to the ears depending upon volume and use style. In order private to be the car & bus * flight inside of a plane even at when moving, the dangerous aural signals from the outside relatively outbreak are few, you think also the noise occurrence risk due to the moving of the body / fretting the cord/code is small, at the environment that, in the future utilizing will try you can obtain the margin for the masking of the sound in addition by environmental sound.
From the Oura way with the similar encapsulated type year receiver, the high-class machine which makes faithful playback of the sound source prime object, you taught Etymotic Research corporation " ER-4S ". (Thank you!) When you try inspecting, as been introduction at the place of the WAO AEDIO , the pattern which is handled . It is about it cannot put out the hand price as expected but you think (laughing), as for improvement of airtightness characteristic it produces year mold in the MDR-EX70SL, would like to try trying soon.
You tried making on an experimental basis the year mold for the MDR-EX70SL, but as for external auditory meatus length the pattern where shortly you can obtain the frequency balance where the pot is satisfactorier.
With the work example which about the 8mm leaves external auditory meatus length, after all fretting noise of sound and the cord/code of our voice of those which rise gain is remarkable. As for position inside external auditory meatus of driver generally the same as the ear tip/chip of normal?
Finishing to think, when almost you try cutting the external auditory meatus, the being confined of the limits to fade low, in satisfactory balance. Also fretting sound of the cord/code becomes moderate.
In external auditory meatus long reduction edition distance of the tympanic membrane was far somewhat, could obtain sufficient volume. In the sense, invasion of external environmental sound, because it is there is a vent effect in the driver itself, as for big sound insulation effective change in the external auditory meatus it was not recognized.
If low from risk of excessive boom of the limits due to closing airtight to the external auditory meatus first curve, to blockade the ear concha cavity, method of approaching that, it makes external masking noise decrease, as a balance perhaps, (it is the 8mm, because there was no thing where balance deteriorates largely, perhaps this) there are times when it is good, problem of the taste.

I just sent this to the other Scott Stein:
*********************************************
Subject: This is the other Scott Stein
I met Scott Stein a while ago. I am also a writer, of the San Diego/Los Angeles persuasion (although born and raised in NY).
I had just read the article Scott Stein had written about me, the other Scott Stein, after we had talked when he sent my production company a pitch for the novel he had written. How unusual. I never knew he wrote about it, but I had a similar reaction after the experience. Ideally, I'd say, we should both have perfectly fine Scott Stein careers, and maybe even be subject of a trivia question of two. Right now I am working at Sony Online Entertainment and writing a screenplay for Silver Dreams Productions. Check out jeopardy.com for an article I wrote.
At any rate, it was good hearing from the other Scott Stein once again.
As long as we don't both disappear if we end up in a room together.
Best,
Scott Stein

A post of the whole article by Scott Stein, from When Falls the Coliseum:
The question is, which Scott Stein wrote this?
I’m Number One
by Scott Stein
I had a Twilight Zone experience the other day. My inbox contained a message from Scott Stein. I didn’t remember sending myself an e-mail, but it wouldn’t have been the first time, so I wasn’t frightened. Then I read the message. It said, "Hello. I am also Scott Stein." It was signed, "Scott Stein, another author."
A writer’s needy ego aside, I had even before this no delusions of the uniqueness of my name. There are a lot of us. I don’t envy people trying to find me in a phone book. And since you can’t throw a stone in most major cities without hitting a Jewish writer (not that you should be throwing stones at Jews or Jewish writers), it should not have been a shock that someone out there also pursuing the literary arts had my name. The other Scott Stein, it turns out, is primarily a playwright, and received a nice review in the San Diego Tribune for a recent effort. We exchanged cyber-pleasantries and both acknowledged that it was weird to find someone with the same name, then got on with our lives.
Now, if we were circus clowns, you might say that having the same name is professionally meaningless. Who knows their names anyway? Name recognition is important in other fields, but even professional athletes have it easier than writers do. There’s a young basketball player named Michael Jordan. Unfortunately for his bank account, no one is confusing him with the original. Pretty much everyone in the world knows what the MJ looks like. But we two Scott Steins are writers. Readers on the Web or in bookstores, not knowing much about us or what we look like, generally search for us by name. Someone recommends a writer by saying, "You’d like Scott Stein’s new book … what is it called? Oh, well, just ask for his new book. They’ll find it for you."
Great. You go into a store or search on Amazon.com because a trusted friend told you how much fun Scott Stein’s writing is, and end up buying the new book by some other Scott Stein, the one about gardening. This does my own career very little good. Plus, you don’t have a garden. No one wins.
As the animated banners on this site shout to the world, my first novel is now available. In case you couldn’t tell, I have put lots of energy into building name recognition and an audience for Scott Stein. Not the other Scott Steins, but this one. This isn’t vain posturing or existential crisis (oh, poor me, I am not unique). This is real. If there are other Scott Steins out there feeding from the trough I am working each week to fill (don’t ask where that metaphor came from), it could cause problems. The kind of problems that could lead to headaches. No one likes headaches.
After a swig of Tylenol, I bravely ventured back on the computer. There were a lot of Scott Steins, it was true. Was a pen name necessary? I needed to know where I ranked. Trembling-with-fear fingers typed S-c-o-t-t S-t-e-i-n into Google.com’s search. As had been the case a few months ago, I was expecting famous author Gertrude Stein and game show host Ben Stein to top the listing, even though they each only shared half my name. I was hoping to land on page two, or three.
I was number one. According to Google, my new favorite search engine, Scott Stein, this one, is first. This was better than a Grammy (they give those to practically anyone). But Google is serious business. And I was number one. Flush with my initial success, I checked other search engines. A toiletries marketing vice president somewhere had me beat on Altavista.com, but I was a respectable number five, with no other writers ahead. Excite.com, on the other hand, did not list me for several pages. I think their programming is faulty.
This is a tale with a feel-good ending and a lesson. What I learned from all this is that it doesn’t matter what your name is, as long as you’re not the other Michael Jordan. Or an aspiring young scientist also named Albert Einstein. Or, poor soul, some Neil Armstrong who not only didn’t walk on the moon but doesn’t own a car. Sharing names isn’t too bad, as long as the Scott Stein people are looking for is me. That is what I learned. That, and Google.com is a marvel of technology unrivaled on the planet earth.
The question is, which Scott Stein wrote this?

Recounts an experience I had with another writer named Scott Stein.
Strangely enough, he had written about it. I didn't realize it until today,
when I had searched Google for "Scott Stein, playwright". And he had been
doing the same thing.
I had also thought it was a Twilight Zone-esque experience.
Are we dealing with two of the same people here?
How strange to find it written about.

Strange Condition:
Pete Yorn, alt-rock rising star, went to my summer camp, Camp Na-Sho-Pa. I was a waiter with him.
I remember, vaguely, having conversations with him, but I don't know what about. If I remember him correctly, he seemed like a nice guy. I think he used to play guitar back then.
He had short hair then.
I also spoke to Heiner Muller, dead avant-garde German playwright. He guest-taught a class in college. That wasn't bad.
Joyce Carol Oates taught me fiction. She is unusual and a gifted eccentric, and as far as I know has no phone or email.
And I met pitcher Barry Zito, who's a cousin of a friend of mine. We all had noodles together before he was drafted and became famous.
And...Bruce Springsteen is my haircutter.
George Lucas delivers my mail every Tuesday.
I licked the hand of Christina Aguilera when she was talking soap opera trivia with me.
Walter Cronkite is my caddy when I golf in Temecula.

I'm a cat, an imaginary cat, Meow-Meow the Cat. I like making fun of people and read dictionaries in my spare time. Usually I only talk about people indirectly, but recently I have a burning desire to send and receive e-mails, since I'm an imaginary cat who can send and receive e-mails. Also, I"m trying to get ideas for the new book that I'm writing, Tales of Meow-Meow the Cat.
I have one best friend in all this world, and his name is Bill. You can read more about both of us in our two books.
Recently my girlfirend, Mie-Mie the Cat, and I broke up, but, we're back together again. You might say that we were made for each other. Hee hee hee!
Fortuitously,

There are stories, people. Stories about cats.
Then see: http://www2.meow-meow.com/video-mania/ and watch the Evil Dragon movie.
Go ahead. Have fun. Wonder, "how long did that really take?" and, "What does Bill do for a living, exactly?"... and, "why do they have all those stuffed animals?"

"POSTAL 2" Karma Kills Like Never Before
Running With Scissors licenses MathEngine's "Karma" software to add to Epic's UNREAL technology for a religious game playing experience
Tucson, AZ - Declaring that Newton's Laws of Physics weren't twisted enough as is, Running With Scissors announced that POSTAL 2 would utilize Karma, the behavioral physics' software by MathEngine, Inc.
"Talk about double-barreled action, we're merging MathEngine's Karma physics with Epic Game's UNREAL technology," said loose canon Vince Desi, Running With Scissors' frighteningly enthusiastic CEO. "Trust me, this Karma stuff is the SHIT! You're gonna need clean underwear after you see how Karma physics helps us to kill off characters and knock off objects with an ebb and flow never before seen in a video game!"
"That Newton dude only had it half-right," bemused the mad CEO. "As a kid in school, I was always confused. 'What goes up must come down,' but hey, what about 'what goes in must come out?' The MathEngine guys got it all figured out. Gravity rocks with Karma! POSTAL 2 is a 3D extravaganza of excess! From an UNREAL technology base, to Karma's character and object behavioral physics - not to mention our own custom coding features that put more bump in the bloody grind - WHOA! Start saving money to buy new underwear now!"
Mike Gamble, Business Development Director for MathEngine, admitted, "When we were approached by Running With Scissors , they wanted character motion and object movement that was life-like, efficient and stable, I think I should have told them that we could only provide them with two out of three, because 'stable' these guys aren't." (Check out a demo at: http://www.mathengine.com)
"In POSTAL 2, the shit is hitting the fan," roared Desi. "Dead is dead, but DYING is a religious experience thanks to Karma! And when a 55-gallon gasoline drum is rolling towards you, it doesn't just roll; it bounces and skips down the hill just like in real life. Listen up you spiritual types out there: Karma can kill, so behave yourselves and get on your knees and start praying..."

OK... Star Wars.
I went to pick up my CD. Blond-haired man. Had two covers. Me and him. Scared.
Toys R Us.
A line. A jedi woman pouring drinks. Stormtrooper employees.
Hundreds of people rooting through boxes like pigs. Toys like feces.
Employees dropping boxes across the floor, smelly people poring through them. Peeling boxes out of their padding.
Hundreds of dollars a purchase.
Boxes all over the floor.
I bought four figures. And went home.
It was sad, dirty, a bit disgusting. It felt necessary like a root canal or a bathroom wiping of the bottom.
I simultaneously enjoyed the moment and wanted these people away from me.
I feel like I've broken up with someone.

Ever hear of Progress Quest?
http://www.progressquest.com
It's utterly absurd. Watch bars fill up. Be a Robot Monk. A Demicanadian. A talking pony. Then deliver letters and collect mini giant pompadours, eel sashimi and kobald penises! I'm not making this up. Even better, you don't do anything. It's an awesome hit of a game. "Play" it right away, and enjoy!

Tired. Working on an outline, pumped full of coffee. Using Airport wireless networking. Very nice. But loses range. Extremely excited about Star Wars Attack of the Clones soundtrack. I am three steps away from Harry Knowles. God help me.
PS, I wonder who is meant to read this. Also, watched the NFL draft. Think I'm a honkin' dork yet?

Okay, I just read a blog that said that blogs need to be journals of better writing quality. Screw that. OK, I can do whatever I want here. The joy of a blog is not journalism. Believe me, we get enough of that. We need quick authenticity. I'd rather see horribly written psychologically revealing spew than "I think I'm smart" pieces. Good lord, what a waste of time. 80-page articles about The Meaning of That Cool Movie I Just Saw, or My Thought On Global War. You know how many dumb people there are out there? We should all just be dumb, or instinctual, and be smart when we're paid to be, or when we need to be. How's that?
I'm keeping these suckers short.
I hope I start a flamewar firestorm or something. Anyone angry yet?
Anyone even reading?
I may not post for a while.

I'm going wireless- getting an Airport card installed on my Powerbook G4. The Apple Store has to work out its kinks, methinks...they claimed last night they couldn't install my card which they make on my machine which they make...now they're doing it...for free. Don't ask.
In other news, the NFL draft tomorrow- God Help Me, I like it. I also like watching spiders plan webs. You know, pre-web-building. New York Jet rumors: none really, I think expect the unexpected. We'll see. Signed Matt Turk, a decent deal. Wish they'd gotten Grady Jackson, but you never know, he may be a real bust in New Orleans.
Like Ricky Williams will be with the Dolphins- wait and see.

So I just heard that Dick Cheney was visiting Long Island. "the vice president is here," my dad says after coming back from CompUSA. "The vice president of what?" I counter. "The vice president of the United States, and he's staying at the Marriott."
"Isn't he dead?"
"Dead?"
I realize that the Marriott is across the street from Computer Associates Headquarters.
"It's his android, dad. They're installing Cheney 2.0."
Then he tells me he hears the crack of thunder.

About Me
- Scott Stein
- I've been a writer in Hollywood, in San Diego, and in New York. I've written screenplays, plays, novels, videogames, and magazine articles—and now, here I am on a blog.
